PROLOGUE THE FIRST

I’ve been out in the desert on a horse with no name…….

A horse stands in a field.

The long days of summer turning to autumn.

In the rain and the sun, under the stars and the moon she waits.

She eats the grass, feels the wind as it blows the leaves across the field.

Some days two children come to the field.

A boy and a girl.

They feed her apples and carrots.

They stroke her and talk quietly to her.

They tell her stories of other places, other times when they were younger and when they will be older.

The field stands on the side of a hill, on the edge of a forest, surrounded by a wooden fence.

The view from the field is of a long valley and the shape of a wide sky.

A river running between the hills many miles away.

Trees, clouds, sunshine.

At this time of year sudden rainstorms sweep up the valley and soak her to the skin.

She shakes herself and gallops round the field until she is dry.

At night she sleeps under the shelter of the trees. She dreams that one morning someone will open the gate and walk with her down the track into the valley.

She waits patiently in the field.

High birds eye view of long valley.

Autumnal trees, lake and river.

Slow track in to field on side of hill.  Trees moving in the wind. Horse galloping across the field.

Slow zoom in to follow horse who stops suddenly, turns and looks straight into camera.

Extreme close up of horse’s eyes. Shining blue.

 Fade to black.
